Split a PDF into separate page ranges

A fifty-page report might contain three chapters you need to send to three different people, or a scanned bundle of forms might hide one page you actually need on its own. Split PDF pulls specific pages or ranges out of a PDF and saves them as their own files, so you stop forwarding an entire document just to share five pages of it.

You tell the tool which pages to pull by typing page ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3,4-6, and each range becomes its own PDF. The split runs right in your browser, so the file never leaves your device, and if you list more than one range you get back a zip holding each range as its own PDF. There is no limit on how many ranges you list in one pass.

Double check your page numbers against the original document, since a mistyped range still produces a valid file, just not the pages you meant. If none of the ranges you type match real pages, the tool stops and asks you to fix it; a bad range among several good ones is simply skipped. If your goal is actually the opposite, joining files instead of dividing one up, Merge PDF is the tool for that. And to just drop a page or two rather than carve out ranges, a dedicated page-removal tool is quicker.

How to use the Split PDF tool

  1. Add your PDF file: drag & drop or click to browse.
  2. Set your options: Page ranges (comma-separated, e.g. 1-3,4-6).
  3. Click “Process Split PDF” and download your result.
