## View and remove hidden metadata from a photo

Most photos carry more than what you see on screen. Camera settings, the date and time the shot was taken, and sometimes GPS location data marking where you were standing can ride along inside the file. Image Metadata reads out the details a photo contains, and gives you the option to strip that hidden information before you post or send the picture anywhere.

The tool shows the details it finds, such as camera information, timestamps, format, dimensions, and resolution where the file includes it, so you can check what a photo is revealing before it leaves your hands. Turn on strip all metadata and it saves a clean copy of the image with that hidden information removed, while the picture itself looks the same. This matters most before sharing a phone photo, since phones routinely embed location data that a stranger could read, even though nothing about it shows in the image itself.

Keep in mind that stripping metadata does not touch pixels, so image quality and appearance stay identical. It works on jpg, jpeg, png, webp, and tiff files, one image at a time rather than a batch. Your file is processed on the servers over an encrypted connection and deleted automatically well within the hour, so nothing lingers after you are done with it.

## How to use the Image Metadata tool

1. Add your JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF file: drag & drop or click to browse.
2. Set your options: Strip all metadata.
3. Click “Process Image Metadata” and download your result.
